Using Healing Spells in the Practice of Magic: Flower Essence Recipes and More

In the practice of magic, healing spells are a natural way to change energy coming from pain, disease or illness. Anyone can be a healer with the practice of magic. Healing spells can help you heal yourself, your pets, the planet or other people. And the good news is that you already know how to heal. Healing is a natural human quality. Some of us just haven't learned to use our natural healing abilities.

About Magical Healing
Everything in the Universe is made up of energy which is in a constant state of vibration or movement. Even things that look solid are really just a composite of energies. If you are going to engage in healing spells or healing work, then you need to be able to work with energy. Everything has its own electro-magnetic field much like an energy signature. Illness, pain and disease are caused by disharmonious energy. So a sick person or animal has basically moved into an energy state that doesn't match their natural vibrational state. Making adjustments to the energetic state can bring it back into balance.

Plants For Healing Spells
One of the magical healing techniques covered in our Energy Healing for Self and Others ebook, is the use of plants in the practice of magic. Each plant has its own unique energy signature and one of the techniques presented in this ebook is making your own flower essences. Flower essences make available to us the vibrational frequencies and individual qualities of plants. Below are a couple of examples of flower essence recipes for specific healing.

Want to Learn Tarot? "Wear" The Cards to Gain Personal Knowledge

Tarot is a fascinating magic study that can give you a powerful tool to gather information and use for divination. When you first begin to learn tarot, you must of course understand the meaning of each of the cards. A good way to do this is to become personally involved with them instead of just memorizing descriptions. The meaning of the card can vary according to the reading you are doing, so developing a personal relationship and understanding of the cards can help them come alive for you in readings thus giving you the meaning in that reading in that situation. Before you can become personally involved with the cards however, you first need to key your deck. This ties the deck into your own energies and the energies from the Universe itself.

Natural Order
The first step to keying the Tarot deck is putting the deck in natural order. Following is the order the cards need to be put in for natural order. These should be placed with the first card listed face down on the top of the deck.
2-10, Page, Knight, Queen, King, Ace of Wands
2-10, Page, Knight, Queen, King, Ace of Swords
2-10, Page, Knight, Queen, King, Ace of Cups
2-10, Page, Knight, Queen, King, Ace of Discs
1-21 of the Major Arcana with the Fool being the last card

Keying The Deck
Sit in the South facing North with your keyed Plate (Earth tool) and Tarot deck arranged in natural order in front of you.

Put two candles that are either Sun Yellow, White, or Sky Blue on either side of the Plate. The candle on the right is the Wisdom candle and the one on the left is the Protection candle. Light the Wisdom candle with a wooden match, then keeping the match lit, sweep it down in an arc over the Plate to the Protection candle and light it. Finish up by moving the lit match in a sweeping arc back over the Plate to touch the flame of the Wisdom candle that is already lit. This process creates a connection between the two candles.

Now take your Tarot deck and put the first card on top of the deck, which should be the 2 of Wands, face up on your Plate.

Look at the card noticing the color, flatness, dimensions of it without focusing on any particular detail. Continue looking at the card, not with a hard stare but rather a soft gaze and start asking questions such as "What time of day is it?" or "Is that a town in the background?" or "Is that an ocean or a lake?" You aren't looking for answers to these questions; they are simply to create curiosity about the card. Continue asking questions until the card "windows". When the card "windows" it will become clearer, more alive, three dimensional, more colorful or brighter. It will feel like you are looking through a window at the scene on the card.

The card is now keyed and you can take it off the Plate and put it face down to start a pile next to the Plate. Then do the process with the next card.

Since this process takes a while, you don't have to do it all at once. You can do a few at a time. If you have a card that you can't get to "window", just put it to the side and try again later. This can happen if you have some type of issue about that card.

Wearing Tarot Cards
After keying all your Tarot cards you are ready to learn Tarot card meanings. Wearing a different card each day will help you gain personal knowledge about the cards. You will experience how the card feels and get messages from the Universe about the card that you put on for the day. Here's how you "wear" a Tarot card:

Pick one of the Tarot cards from the deck and spend several minutes just really looking at it. Look at the symbols on the card, the pictures on it and the number of each. Think about what you know about the 4 elements in relation to the symbols. For example, if the card has cups in it then you know it is associated with the Water element since the magical tool for this element is the Chalice. The Water element deals with emotions and feelings so you'll also know that the card deals with these areas. Focus all your intention on the card and listen for it to "speak" to you. This might happen by you seeing or feeling it come alive by seeing movement in it, hearing words in your mind associated with it or that you notice changes in the brightness of the colors. Absorb the energies you feel from the card and take this energy with you the rest of the day. At the end of the day make notes about what you observed and how your thoughts, feelings, behaviors and interactions were affected that day.

Really getting to know the cards and creating a personal experience with them and what they mean will help you develop a deeper understanding of them. That way when you do readings you don't just have a memorized definition that you have to try to fit into the reading, you'll have a whole new perspective on the card meaning and the relationship with it to understand what it is saying in any particular Tarot reading you do. How To Get Happy by Being More Like Your Dog

The new year is in full swing and once again we are back to work or school. Our minds are engaged, our lives are full, and we are probably less relaxed than we were during our time off for the holidays.

So how can you stay in touch with that sensation of relaxation even while you are mentally engaged in your daily tasks? As odd as it may sound, if you spend just 5 minutes a day being like your dog, you can easily get back in touch with that relaxed state.

It's called "dog mind." Dog mind is how dogs and most animals spend their days. Have you ever watched your dog for long periods of time? When relaxed, he sits or lies down. He has his eyes open but isn't necessarily watching or thinking anything in particular. He's in dog mind.

How can you achieve dog mind? Simple. Get into a relaxed position and keep your eyes open. Move your head slowly back and forth so that your eyes take in the things around you, and focus on keeping your mind completely blank and silent. It sometimes helps to hold your breath for a few seconds while you do this - suspending the breath seems to help some of us suspend our thoughts.

You may only be able to hold this silent state for a few seconds before thoughts intrude. When thoughts do come in, take a deep breath and hold it while you scan your surroundings again.

To find out whether you're really in dog mind, scan the room with your eyes without keeping your mind blank. Notice all the thoughts, opinions, and associations that flood your mind. Now take a deep breath and slide back into dog mind. Notice the difference.

If you're ready for an advanced form of this exercise, look at different signs or banners as you move about town. Focus on looking at those signs without reading them. Simply see the letters and numbers as you would see any other object in your environment.

Spending just a few minutes in dog mind each day can reset your emotional tone to one of high, positive vibration. In that high state, you can attract and manifest what you want in life much more easily than in your normal state. Not bad for a dog, right?

How a Blind Date Can Increase Your Psychic Abilities

So how can a blind date increase your psychic abilities? It's probably not what you're thinking. We're not talking about having a few drinks with someone you've never met before. We're talking about developing your psychic abilities by deliberating shutting down one or more of your five senses.

Because we are such physical creatures, we have a tendency to use our five senses in everything we do. That's not a bad idea for driving, walking, or working on the computer, but if you want to increase your psychic or spirit abilities, using your five senses less will help.

That's where the blind date comes in. A blind date is where you blindfold yourself and have a buddy walk you around on a "date." Your buddy's job is to make sure that you're safe and you don't walk into anything or fall in a ditch. Your buddy is your guide and will lead you around, keeping you safe and upright.

Your part of this date is to extend your psychic abilities outward as your buddy walks you around. Sense what is around you. Do you sense a large object ahead or just open space? Sense what is behind and above you as well, since your psychic abilities will allow you to see in 360 degrees.

You might want to have your buddy walk you around for a while, in many directions until you no longer have a sense of where you are. Then spin slowly around and extend your spirit perceptions. Tell your buddy what you sense in each direction and have him or
her tell you if you're right.

If you don't have a buddy to do this with, you can do it by yourself outside. Start in a relatively open space and just move slowly so you don't get hurt. Give a whole new meaning to the term "blind date," right? Want to learn more ways to develop and practice using your psychic abilities? Check out our Psychic Development ebook.

Getting Answers from the Four Directions

It is often said that two heads are better than one. Well, how about four heads? When you really need some new and different perspectives on a situation or event that has been bothering you, one of the best guidance you can get is from the four directions. Tribal and religious customs have long acknowledged the power of the four directions as source of advice and guidance. They have made use of four directions ceremonies and prayer.

A simple way to receive guidance from the four directions is to ask one direction per day for help. This is a simplified four directions ceremony. You'll need a Sun Yellow candle (any candle that is bright yellow), pen and paper, and some white broadleaf sage (you can use either the leaf clusters or a smudge stick). While white broadleaf sage is primarily an air element botanical, it has enough of the other three elements (fire, water and earth) to be used in all four directions. White broadleaf sage is highly prized for its strong aromatic properties (strongest of the different types of sage) and is considered the king of all sages. It is excellent for meditation, divination, smudging, cleansing and purification.

Ready? Here's how to ask for answers from the four directions.

Four Directions Ceremony
DAY 1

  • Sit facing East, direction of the element Air (thoughts, communication, ideas, inspiration, enlightenment).
  • Write the situation on paper as clearly and succinctly as possible. Then write the outcome you want, also as clearly and succinctly as possible.
  • Light the Sun Yellow candle with a paper or wooden match (no lighters!).
  • Hold your hands up to and around the candle flame and say in a strong voice:

"Child of wonder,Child of flame,Nourish my Spirit,And protect my aim!"

  • Hold the situation and the desired outcome in your attention for a few minutes (with eyes open or closed).
  • Light the white sage from the Sun Candle – the sage will carry you question or prayer to the direction.
  • Ask aloud to the direction: "What ideas, inspiration or communication is needed to resolve this situation and create the desired outcome?"
  • Then write whatever answers come to you. Do not question or think about the answers – just write! Write until there are no more answers.
  • Thank the East.
  • Tear the sheet or sheets of paper that have the answers off the pad and store them in a safe place. Do NOT read the answers.

DAY 2

  • Sit facing South, direction of the element Fire (action, passion, will, power).
  • Have the paper on which you have written the situation and desired outcome in front of you.
  • Light the Sun Candle and say the verse, same as the day before.
  • Hold the situation and desired outcome in your attention for a few minutes.
  • Light the white sage from the Sun Candle – the sage will carry you question or prayer to the direction.
  • Ask aloud to the direction: "What actions are needed to resolve this situation and create the desired outcome?"
  • Record the answers, same as the day before. Again, do not think about the answers, just write them.
  • Thank the South.
  • Store the answers in a safe place, but do not read them.

DAY 3

  • Sit facing West, direction of the element Water (emotions, compassion, language of Spirit).
  • Ask aloud to the direction: "What emotions or Spirit changes are needed to resolve this situation and create the desired outcome?"
  • Record the answers, same as the day before. Again, do not think about the answers, just write them.
  • Thank the West.
  • Store the answers in a safe place, but do not read them.

DAY 4

  • Sit facing North, direction of the element Earth (manifestation, physical reality, the body).
  • Have the paper on which you have written the situation and desired outcome in front of you.
  • Light the Sun Candle and say the verse, same as the day before.
  • Hold the situation and desired outcome in your attention for a few minutes.
  • Light the white sage from the Sun Candle – the sage will carry your question or prayer to the direction.
  • Ask aloud to the direction: "What physical changes are needed to resolve this situation and create the desired outcome?"
  • Record the answers, same as the day before. Again, do not think about the answers, just write them.
  • Thank the North.
  • Store the answers in a safe place, but do not read them.

DAYS 5 and 6
Do not think about the situation or ponder the answers you have been given. Do not read the answers you wrote.

DAY 7

  • Sit in the South facing North, with the Sun Candle and your answers in front of you.
  • Light the Sun Candle and say the verse.
  • Light the white sage from the Sun Candle – the sage will carry your thanks and appreciation to the four directions.
  • Relax and read the answers.
  • Thank the four directions.
  • Meditate on the answers for as long as feels good.
  • Go where the answers suggest, following the ones that your intuition tells you are appropriate at the moment.

The four directions never fail to give good directions. Have fun with this simple yet effective four directions ceremony.

How to Make Magic with Everyday Magic

Magic is all around us and is there to help with all the everyday problems and annoyances we run into. You might be surprised to learn your house is actually full of magical ingredients and tools. That is what our Book 2 of the Witchcraft Spell Books series, Learn How To Do Witchcraft Rituals and Spells with Household Ingredients, is all about. This book gives you lots of magic techniques to help with everyday problems using common items that you will find around you. One of the techniques you'll discover is how to magically toss your troubles away.

How to Toss Your Troubles Away
This magic technique uses simulacra magic using rocks to represent problems or negative issues you are facing. In simulacra magic, an object is keyed to represent a person or thing and then whatever is done to the simulacra also happens to the person or thing it is keyed to. In this procedure you will be creating a psychic connection between a rock and a problem in your life and then throwing the rock in a body of water to toss it away. Here's how.

1. Pick a place to go for a walk that has some type of rocks or stones and has a large body of water such as a lake, pond or river and take a sack or bag with you.

2. As you begin walking look for rocks that call to you in some way and pick up one that draws your attention and that will be easy enough to put in your sack.

3. Hold the rock in your dominant hand, the hand that you naturally point with, and think of the problem that you want to key to this rock.

4. Key the rock by holding it in your dominant hand, and bringing up every thought, feeling, or physical sensation related to the problem or issue you have. Push all these with intention into the rock. Be sure that you are NOT keying the stone to a living person or being, but only the situation or problem that you are facing.

5. Once the stone gets an energetically heavy feeling to it, becomes warm or tingly, you will know it is keyed and can place it in your sack.

6. Continue on your walk doing the same with other rocks and other problems until you feel you have a rock for each of the problems or issues you want to deal with.

7. Now take your sack of rocks to the body of water and take one stone out of the sack. Hold the stone for a few seconds then toss it with all your might into the water. This physical disconnection will sever the issue from your life.

8. You can also say the following disconnect litany in a voice of command just before throwing the rock into the water if you wish.
"I am neither your creature nor your get,
To be moved by your whim or your let;
I will go my own way,
By night or by day,
To serve my own purposes yet."

9. Continue throwing the rocks in this way one by one into the water and once your sack is empty you are done.

This will disconnect you from the problems that you opted to deal with. You can of course always choose to bring them back into your space, so just know that you have let them go and dwell on them no more. Find a way to distract yourself if you find that you are starting to wonder about them again.
